Position: Full Time - Regular
Hours: Starts between 8:00PM until 4:30PM, Monday-Friday. Shift adjustments may be made by manager.
General Summary: The main purpose of AM Utility is to empty and sweep trailers so they are ready for use, pick up cardboard, and general warehouse clean up. As Utility Worker this employee will perform additional tasks including general warehouse cleaning, picking up cardboard, and similar jobs.
Responsibilities:
- Pick up cardboard, shrink wrap and debris
- Clear trailers of pallets, totes, returns and debris. Sweep thoroughly and make ready for use
- Safely operate a pallet jack
- Use safe lifting methods on items weighing up to 50lbs
- Use shrink wrap to hand wrap pallets when completed
- Keep work area pick up and cleaned up for safety reasons
- General warehouse cleaning
- Other duties as assigned by manager
- Skilled in oral expression—communicating information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
- Skilled in oral comprehension —listening to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
- Abilities: a) Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. b) Multilimb Coordination — The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while sitting or standing. It does not involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion. c) Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer). d) Trunk Strength — The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing. e) Must be able to read English, recognize numbers, and select the appropriate product to fill orders
- Ability to work well with other employees to foster a respectful and professional work environment
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Riding pallet jack experience preferred
