Job Summary:

As a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA), you will provide direct patient care services under the direction and supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT). You will be responsible for documenting patient treatments, changes in condition, and other pertinent information as required.

PTA Duties/Responsibilities:

• Administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain, improve or restore function, and promote healing.
• Providing skilled physical therapy services/interventions in accordance with physician orders under the supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Responding to requests for service by relaying information and referrals to Physical Therapist.
• Implementing and modifying the patient's physical therapy plan of treatment with PT supervision.
• Measuring and recording patient's motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Monitoring patient response to treatment intervention and modifying treatment approach and directive as clinically appropriate with IDT collaboration.
• Providing clinical support and education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Ensuring documentation is completed thoroughly and timely and complies with all company and state/federal regulatory requirements.
• Attending required meetings as designated by the Director of Rehab.

PTA Skills:

• SNF/Long term care experience preferred.
• Current knowledge of treatment practices.
• Knowledge of Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred.
• Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.

Required Licensure:

• Active/Valid Texas license as Physical Therapy Assistant.
• In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
