Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the accounting department, manage financial reporting, and implement best practices to support the organization’s growth and integrity. Duties

• Lead and supervise the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory standards, including SEC reporting when applicable
• Manage general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation processes to ensure data integrity
• Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and financial analysis
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls, securities law, tax regulations, and other relevant legal requirements
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable management to optimize cash flow and vendor relationships
• Conduct bank reconciliations, cash flow analysis, and financial report writing for internal stakeholders and external auditors
• Implement and maintain accounting systems such as Sage, Xero, or other financial software to streamline operations
• Mentor and develop staff by providing guidance on technical accounting issues like Wills, trusts & estate law or non-profit accounting as needed
• Support regulatory reporting efforts and ensure adherence to international accounting standards where applicable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
• Extensive experience in financial accounting, public accounting or corporate finance roles with a strong understanding of GAAP principles
• Proven expertise in SOX compliance, SEC reporting, governmental accounting, and technical accounting standards
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Sage, Xero or similar platforms; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced spreadsheet skills
• Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet management
• Demonstrated ability to manage accounts payable/receivable processes efficiently while ensuring accuracy
• Excellent analytical skills with experience in financial report interpretation and forecasting
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion; understanding of securities law is a plus
• Effective mentoring skills with a focus on developing team members’ technical expertise in areas like non-profit or international accounting

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
