Position is available for a full-time Therapist who uses trauma-focused treatment to improve and enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of children in the Foster Care and/or Residential Treatment Programs. The Therapist is responsible for assessing, developing, coordinating, and administering therapy services to individuals, families, and groups of children whose traumatic experiences have negatively impacted. The therapist will learn and utilize therapy modalities consistent with Hephzibah’s treatment framework and methodology.
Requirements include:
- Master’s degree in social work, counseling, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- Must hold a clinical license (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT) preferred or be actively working toward licensure, with the expectation to obtain licensure within 6 to 12 months of hire.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience working with children preferred, especially in residential, foster care, community mental health, child welfare, or school-based settings.
- Previous experience providing trauma-informed clinical care to youth and families preferred.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and ability to work effectively with children, parents, staff, interns, oversight agencies, and the public.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and be willing to do home visits in the nearby and surrounding communities.
- Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and access to a car that can be used for services to clients..
