Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Interventional Pain Management provides high-quality, coordinated and patient-centered nursing care to patients undergoing interventional pain procedures (e.g., epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, radiofrequency ablations). This role emphasizes patient assessment, procedural readiness, recovery monitoring, and education focused on pain control and functional improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assesses and evaluates patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patients
- Develops, discusses and communicates a plan of care for each patient, in collaboration with each patient/family/significant other in order to address all identified needs
- Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to ensure accurate medication administration
- Demonstrates competence in performance of procedures and utilization of equipment for medical management according to hospital policy and procedures (i.e. blood administration, IV care management, use of glucometer, feeding pumps, PCA etc)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Active RN license in the state of Louisiana
- ADN or BSN degree
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS required for sedation cases
- 2-4 years of relevant clinical experience in pain management, PACU, or procedural nursing(preferred)
- Experience managing chronic pain patients and opioid therapy considerations (preferred)
- Familiarity with sedation protocols and recovery monitoring
- Must be able to act cooperatively and collaboratively as a team member
- Strong clinical, interpersonal and communication skills
Pay: $31.12 - $39.70 per hour
