The Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) is a team of mental health professionals who work collaboratively within their communities to decrease suicide, increase safety, provide outreach to people with unmet psychiatric needs, reduce psychiatric hospitalizations, and mental health symptoms through immediate access to services.
The MCOT Lead position provides primary supervision to the MCOT, overseeing prevention, intervention, and postvention care. This position works with all MCOT staff, MH clinic staff, law enforcement, and other agencies within the community. This position exercises extensive independent judgment and requires flexibility in schedule for after-hours and weekend shifts. This position will monitor hospital admissions and discharge of individuals recommended for inpatient psychiatric care. This position is responsible for coordinating expedited intake services as clinically indicated. The MCOT Lead may provide mental health services and supports as authorized in Texas Resilience and Recovery guidelines. This position works closely with the Clinic Directors in their communities.

You will get to:
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Onboard, hire, and train MCOT and agency team members
- Partners with Clinic Director to identify team deliverables, create staffing plans, and build schedules
- Create a monthly on-call schedule
- Monitors and ensures that the Team achieves at least 80% on the QM Quarterly Review.
- Supervise the performance expectations of MCOT
- Support, mentor, and coach MCOT members, to include annual evaluation of performance
- Develop strategies for integration into current community systems and clinic processes
- Attend intra- and interagency meetings with partners, stakeholders, and peers
- Ensures timely communication within the department and with other departments and agencies via written correspondence, email, telephones, and other means to ensure project follow-through and completion
- Ensure all crisis activations are responded to according to TAC (Texas Administrative Code) requirements
- Monitor crisis outcomes and dispositions
- Provide intake/enrollment for persons in crisis
- Collect, analyze, and report data in accordance with associated deadlines
- Comply with all HCMHDDC policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain an atmosphere of respect, interest, and enthusiasm in the services provided
- Monitors and coordinates effective crisis follow-up to ensure continuity of care
- Provide short-term counseling to the crisis caseload
You'll definitely need:
- A master's degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, sociology, behavioral or human services, or a related degree with the ability to credential as a Qualified Mental Health Professional.
- Current LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or Psych D License
- A valid Texas State Driver's License.
- Current automobile insurance and the ability to travel to individuals when necessary.
- Must become certified in PMAB, First Aid, and CPR within three months of employment and maintain certification without interruption thereafter.
- Bilingual; English/Spanish preferred.
Preferred:
- 2 years of experience providing crisis interventions within a community setting
- 2 years of experience providing diagnostic and intake evaluations
- 2 years in a supervisory capacity
- 1 -2 years of experience in non-profit/grants management
