Role Description
The Crane Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in San Antonio, TX. This role is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining cranes and related lifting equipment in accordance with safety and manufacturer standards. Day-to-day tasks include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, and completing field service calls at customer sites as needed. The Crane Technician will document all work performed, communicate repair recommendations, and collaborate closely with service and parts teams to ensure timely and efficient equipment support. The role also involves adhering to company safety policies, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and participating in ongoing training to stay current with equipment technologies and best practices.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in working with lifting equipment and crane systems, including safe operation, inspection, and repair.
- Candidates should possess troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems on cranes and heavy equipment.
- Candidates should possess field service experience, including performing on-site diagnostics, repairs, and customer support.
- Candidates should possess heavy equipment knowledge and equipment maintenance skills, including preventive maintenance and component replacement.
- Relevant technical training or certification in diesel, mechanical, or industrial technology is beneficial; crane-specific certifications are a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation, and to use diagnostic tools and software effectively.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet any required driving and physical demands for the role.
