INTRODUCTION

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer focused on storage to join our growing Enterprise SRE team. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining productivity service infrastructure for the entire firm, both on-prem and in the cloud. They ensure the availability and reliability of systems within this stack, and are the principal drivers of growth for software and infrastructure practice within our larger Enterprise Technology team.

In this role, you’ll specialize in managing and scaling networked storage solutions for user-facing infrastructure and some of HRT’s most sensitive data. As a member of the Enterprise SRE team, you’ll also have the opportunity to build, enhance, and manage a variety of internal systems – from directory services to AI tools, both on-prem and in the cloud – while meeting HRT’s unique requirements for reliability and performance.

This role requires a deep skill set in Linux, Kubernetes, and observability; proficiency in Python; and solid experience with configuration management/IaC. The ideal candidate is an experienced, hands-on engineer with exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, deploy, and manage secure NetApp-based networked storage solutions
• Build, enhance, and manage a variety of internal systems, from directory services to AI tools, both on-prem and in the cloud
• Enable and promote good engineering practice across the Enterprise Technology organization
• Develop monitoring solutions to ensure high system uptime and reliability; utilize tools to detect and resolve issues proactively

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience managing networked storage with NetApp appliances
• Experience with troubleshooting NFS and SMB on Linux and Windows
• 5+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or related disciplines
• Proficiency with Python
• Experience managing and monitoring containerized infrastructure
• Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD
• Experience with IaC and configuration management tools such as Terraform, SaltStack, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible
• Experience working within an IT organization is a plus

COMPENSATION

• The estimated base salary range for this position is 200,000 to 250,000 USD per year (or local equivalent). The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
