We're seeking an experienced Quality Engineer who is passionate about manufacturing excellence, process improvement and delivering world-class quality. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in advancing our Quality Management System while partnering with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations and Supply Chain to drive continuous improvement throughout our organization.
What You'll Do
As a Quality Engineer, you will support and strengthen HAT's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 standards while leading initiatives that improve manufacturing processes, product quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze quality data, including product defects, customer complaints, supplier issues and field failures to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
- Monitor and report key Quality Management System (QMS) metrics to support data-driven decision making.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards through process reviews, documentation and internal audits.
- Lead root cause investigations using structured problem-solving methodologies and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Coordinate investigations involving product returns, warranty claims, RMAs, rework and recall activities when necessary.
- Support incoming, in-process and final product inspection processes to ensure product quality standards are met.
- Manage Material Review Board (MRB) activities and ensure proper disposition of non-conforming materials.
- Conduct internal quality audits and drive corrective actions to improve compliance and operational performance.
- Develop, revise and maintain quality procedures, work instructions and process documentation.
- Deliver training on quality systems, procedures and standardized work instructions.
- Participate in Engineering Change Notice (ECN) activities to support product and process improvements.
- Utilize quality tools including FMEA, CAPA, 8D, PDCA, Fishbone Diagrams, Fault Tree Analysis, Lean Manufacturing and 5-Why methodologies.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste and enhance overall product quality.
- Communicate quality performance, issues and improvement opportunities throughout the organization.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Five or more years of Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience leading root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency using quality methodologies including CAPA, FMEA, Lean Manufacturing, 8D, PDCA/A3 and statistical problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manufacturing documentation.
- Strong analytical organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
- Experience supporting supplier quality and manufacturing process improvements.
- Knowledge of ERP systems and manufacturing quality reporting tools.
