The Position: Content & Social Media Strategist
The Content & Social Marketing Strategist is responsible for bringing the HydraPak brand to life through compelling storytelling, engaging content, and strategic digital marketing initiatives. This role leads the development and execution of HydraPak's content and social media strategy, creating integrated campaigns that connect athletes, products, events, and brand partnerships across multiple channels to grow awareness, strengthen community engagement, and support business objectives.
The ideal candidate is an experienced storyteller and content creator who combines creativity with strategic thinking. They have a passion for the outdoor and endurance communities, understand how to create content that resonates with consumers, and use data-driven insights to continually optimize performance across social media, digital marketing, and integrated brand campaigns.

Duties and Responsibilities
Strategy & Content Leadership
- Develop and own HydraPak's social media and digital content strategy, aligning channel plans and editorial priorities with broader business objectives, product launches, seasonal campaigns, retail initiatives, and brand partnerships.
- Work with a broader marketing team to create annual and quarterly content strategies, defining audience segments, channel objectives, messaging pillars, and key performance indicators.
- Identify emerging trends, consumer insights, and opportunities within running, cycling, outdoor, and sustainability communities to inform content and campaign development.
- Build integrated campaign plans that connect social, email, web, events, athletes, influencers, and retail activations into cohesive brand experiences.
- Establish content frameworks and storytelling pillars that reinforce HydraPak's leadership in performance hydration, innovation, and sustainable racing.
- Develop channel-specific growth strategies for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Strava, Reddit, and emerging platforms, ensuring content is optimized for both audience engagement and business impact.
- Partner with Product Marketing, Ecommerce, Sales, Partnerships, and Creative teams to align content strategies with commercial priorities and product go-to-market plans.
- Utilize analytics, social listening, customer insights, and performance data to continuously optimize channel strategies, content investment, and audience engagement.
- Make strategic recommendations regarding content mix, paid amplification, creator partnerships, and resource allocation to maximize brand growth and marketing efficiency.
Content Production
- Work with Art Director and Digital Designer to capture and produce content in the form of: Short-form video (Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts), Behind-the-scenes event content, Athlete and ambassador storytelling, and educational product demonstrations and how-to content.
- Develop written content including blogs, landing pages, and email copy
- Attend races, trade shows, athlete activations, and brand events to create real-time content and develop post-event storytelling assets.
- Edit basic photo and video assets using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, CapCut, or similar platforms.
Content Performance & Optimization
- Measure content performance and engagement metrics and continuously optimize content strategy based on audience insights.
- Utilize social listening and trend analysis to identify emerging content opportunities and platform-specific best practices.
- Develop and test new content formats, storytelling approaches, and platform features to increase reach and engagement.
Education & Experience
- 4 year degree from an accredited college or university
- 4+ years brand or agency experience, love of outdoors required
- Demonstrated experience with social media platforms including: LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Strava, Reddit
- Understanding of social media metrics; ability to interpret the results and take action to increase the effectiveness of social media campaigns.
- Familiarity with social listening and reporting software.
- Knowledge of key digital marketing tools: Shopify, Sprout Social, Klaviyo
- Understanding/experience with Facebook Ads Manager, setting up and managing paid social campaigns.
- Proven experience in writing and/or directing effective content for web/social, ads, and/or collateral
- Ability to work autonomously, practice good judgment, effective decision making and time management skills
- Ability to work in, and make a positive contribution to a team environment
- Experience developing and executing multi-channel content and social strategies that support brand and business objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to translate consumer insights and data into actionable content strategies and campaign recommendations.
- Experience creating integrated marketing campaigns that span social, email, web, events, partnerships, and influencer programs.
- Strong understanding of content marketing, audience development, customer journey mapping, and brand storytelling.
- Ability to balance long-term brand building with short-term performance objectives and channel growth.
Salary & Benefits:
This is a full-time position based in our Longmont, CO office Monday-Thursday with Fridays remote eligible. The typical work hours for this job are between 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. Pay range for this position is $60,000-80,000 annually with up to 5% bonus potential. HydraPak offers up to 120 hours of Paid Time Off in the first year of service, 11 paid holidays, a range of insurance benefits starting the first of the month following a 30-day waiting period, and a 401(k) plan with company match after 90 days.
