About the Role
ICOP is searching for several Regional Safety Manager: The Regional Safety Manager will provide training, compliance, regulatory guidance, incident investigation, coaching and maintaining the company’s safety culture for their area. This opportunity is a pivotal leadership role in the organization that bridges corporate safety strategies with field execution. The Regional Safety Manager works collaboratively with various stakeholders inside and outside of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Subject matter expert for safety and compliance in the region.
- Provide guidance on OSHA, DOT, and EPA construction requirements.
- Develop site specific safety programs to meet client’s expectations.
- Communicate effectively (written and verbally).
- Able to work in a highly demanding construction environment.
- Have the skillsets to manage multiple competing projects at the same time.
- Responsible for conducting incident investigations.
- Perform field safety and compliance surveys, coaching and develop corrective action plans.
- Identifying high hazard environments and creating effective risk mitigation plan.
- Responding to regional safety and compliance matters and providing the necessary support and leadership.
- Performing trending analysis and developing proactive action plans.
- Providing safety training.
- Overseeing regional safety and compliance KPI’s.
- Working with area management daily to ensure operational effectiveness.
- Championing the company’s safety culture.
- Managing subcontractors’ safety and compliance programs.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Business or a minimum of 5 years working as a construction Safety Leader.
- Knowledge of OSHA, DOT and EPA construction safety standards.
- Experience as a field safety professional for multiple locations, simultaneously.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) - a plus but not required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Safety Certification e.g., CSP, CHST, plus certifications to facilitate this training.
- First Aid Certification.
- Experience working on large, scaled construction projects.
- Able to travel for extended periods of time in the assigned region.
- Understanding workers’ compensation, auto and commercial liability claims.
- Working with insurance companies, agents and Third-Party Administrators.
- Must have experience with return-to-work programs.
Travel, Physical Effort, & Working Conditions:
- Travel Requirements: Expected Travel (up to 60-70%) within the assigned Region.
- Physical Demands: Working at construction sites. Working in inclement weather. Able to lift 50 pounds. Occasionally pushing, pulling, climbing.
- Environmental Exposure: Work in various environments, i.e., extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required.
- Medical Screening: The successful candidate must pass a post-offer, drug screening.
