Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Sales Engineer will work with the sales team to design low-voltage solutions for IES clients.
- The Sales Engineer identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons able to understand service requirements. Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- The Sales Engineer determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services
- The Sales Engineer will act as liaison between and meet with sales, project management and operations when project is turned over for installation.
- The Sales Engineer prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information from site visits/customer meetings to the pre-construction & sales team.
- The Sales Engineer will attend training and review sessions on technical requirements per the Company’s training guidelines.
- The Sales Engineer will attend and complete job turnover meetings as required to cover all details and expectations of project as they were designed
- The Sales Engineer will handle other responsibilities as assigned.

- Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s).
- Must promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
- Must have proven problem solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
- Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
- Must be able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
- Must be able to learn Company and customer project management systems.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects/estimates and present a high level of organization.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements:
- Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- RCDD certification preferred.
- Structured cabling industry experience preferred.
- Must have experience in customer interface, such as liaison between the customer and the Company.
- Must have a minimum of seven (5) years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical or construction field.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
- Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
