Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing, coaching and supervising Business Office staff and functions.

Optimize productivity within billing team by 1) establishing goals that best utilize personnel knowledge and talent; 2) encouraging strategic communication, and 3) motivating staff in a positive and respectful manner.

Oversee tasks within the overall billing process and generate changes to improve efficiency.

Ensure billing staff team is well-trained in all billing duties to ensure timely and effective completion of tasks.

Assist in managing claims follow-up to ensure orders are billed timely to reduce outstanding Accounts Receivable and prevent from going to collection.

Oversee third party claims processing from start to finish; ensure claims are correct within Athena software.

Relay updated information regarding state, federal and/or private insurance policy changes to business office staff and coordinate with other departments as necessary.

Actively participate in the daily completion of billing tasks while managing overall caseloads with medical billing/coding team within existing protocols and resources.

Skills and Abilities:
High school diploma or GED, two (2) years healthcare or Business Office Management preferred.

Associate degree in business management or administration is preferred.

Medical billing experience with two (2) years in a supervisory role preferred.

Thorough knowledge of Critical Access Hospital (CAH) and Rural Health Clinic (RHC) billing strongly preferred.

In-depth knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial and private insurance and corresponding regulations mandatory

Experience with physician credentialing process preferred.
