Position Summary:
The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) provides comprehensive women's health care across the lifespan, including gynecologic, prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care. This role includes full-scope midwifery care, labor and delivery management, newborn care, first assist responsibilities, newborn circumcisions, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary Women's Health team dedicated to providing exceptional care throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide full-scope midwifery care including prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn, and gynecologic care across the lifespan.
- Manage normal pregnancies, labor, birth, and postpartum recovery.
- Perform comprehensive health assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
- Provide family planning, contraceptive management, preventive care, and well-woman services.
- Deliver preconception, perimenopausal, and postmenopausal care.
- Assess and stabilize newborns, including emergency interventions as indicated.
- Serve as first assist for cesarean deliveries and other procedures as credentialed and privileged.
- Perform newborn circumcisions and other procedures consistent with training, credentialing, and privileges.
- Perform office and hospital-based procedures including IUD insertion/removal, endometrial biopsy, and pessary management as credentialed and privileged.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to provide high-quality patient care.
- Consult, co-manage, and refer patients as clinically appropriate.
- Maintain timely, accurate medical records and participate in quality improvement, continuing education, and departmental initiatives.
Qualifications:
Required
- Master's or Doctoral degree from an ACME-accredited nurse-midwifery program
- Current certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) through the American Midwifery Certification Board
- Active and unrestricted New York State license as a Midwife
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
- Prescriptive authority in New York State
- Current BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Ability to obtain and maintain first assist privileges
- Ability to perform newborn circumcisions consistent with credentialing and privileges
- Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred
- One to three years of clinical experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife
