Keches Law Group, P.C. is a well-established law firm with offices in Milton, Bridgewater, and Worcester, practicing in the areas of workers' compensation, personal injury, and medical malpractice.
We are seeking an experienced, full time Legal Assistant to join our team in our team in Milton, MA.
Duties:
- Managing all telephone communications for the assigned attorney(s) by answering or directing inquiries
- Producing information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting text, data, and graphics
- Coordinating case preparation
- Initiating telecommunications which may include organizing client conferences, attorney meetings, and other special functions
- Requesting reports and medical records from doctors’ offices, hospitals, urgent cares, etc. and preparing them for court
- Representing attorney(s) by communicating and obtaining information, following up on delegated assignments, and knowing when to act and when to refer matters to the attorney(s)
- Maintaining client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential
- Enhancing the reputation of the department and the organization by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to the position
- Continuing to communicate with and update the clients throughout the process of their case to help ensure the client has all the correct and relevant information
- Opening and scanning of mail addressed to the attorney(s)
- Filing documents and updating client files
Skills/Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies or related field is preferred
- 1-2 years of law firm experience is preferred
- Multi-lingual abilities are a plus
- Strong phone, typing, and computer skills are a must
- Ability to interact professionally and appropriately with co-workers, clients, attorneys, and others
- Must be energetic, well organized, and have the ability to multi-task
- Must possess and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to handle situations with tact and diplomacy; experience working in the hospitality or service industry is strongly preferred
- Ability to work in a high intensity, high stress environment handling a multitude of duties
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while accomplishing short-term goals without losing sight and commitment to the longer-term needs of the attorney(s)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and evaluative skills
- Ability to work for multiple people and seamlessly adapt to each management style
Schedule
- Monday – Friday
- 8:30am - 5:00pm
- After the training period, 1 work-from-home day can be scheduled

The anticipated salary range for this position, which we in good faith expect to pay at the time of posting, is $47,000-$60,000 annually. This range allows us to make an offer that reflects multiple factors, including experience, education, qualifications, and job-related knowledge and skills, as well as internal pay equity. It’s not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range, as we strive to provide room for future and continued salary growth. Base pay is just one component of our Total Rewards package, which may also include discretionary bonuses, commissions, or other incentives depending on the role.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
