Job Summary
Jefferson Community and Technical College/Bullitt County Adult Education is hiring a part time (24-28 hours per week) instructor who can teach GED (Reading Language arts, Social Studies, Science, and Math) at the learning center, off site locations and detention center.
Job Duties:
- Provide GED, college transition, ELL, certificate training and Adult Basic Education contextualized instruction at the learning centers as well as local jails and prisons.
- Prepare class materials, syllabus, course outlines and homework activities as appropriate to ensure students are improving learning as well as earning their GED.
- Use appropriate materials contextualized and aligned to content areas.
- Provide instruction in a variety of subjects (Math, Social Studies, Science and Language Arts)
- Administers student’s assessments according to test publishers and vendors guidelines as needed in the prisons and local jails.
- Ensure homework, and distance-learning forms are collected and completed accurately.
- Follow JCTC, KYAE and DOC policies and procedures displaying professionalism at all times.
- Communicate with co-workers as well as Director to ensure program success.

- Others duties as assigned by Jefferson Community and Technical College Adult Education Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Should place in NRS level 6 TABE 13/14. The individual must be comfortable multi-tasking and organized. This position requires the ability to work with a varied constituency of students, faculty, staff, and the public.
