Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Commercial Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across various commercial construction sites and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards and building codes, including the National Electrical Code (NEC). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new construction to upgrades and renovations, utilizing your technical skills and hands-on experience to deliver high-quality results.
Duties
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in commercial buildings using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical schematics to accurately execute project plans.
- Work with low voltage and high voltage systems, ensuring proper installation and safety procedures are followed.
- Operate testing equipment such as ohmmeters to diagnose electrical issues effectively.
- Collaborate with construction teams, including frame carpentry and renovation crews, to coordinate electrical work seamlessly within larger projects.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, inspections conducted, and compliance with safety standards.
- Follow all safety protocols related to electrical work on construction sites, including working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial electrician systems when required.
Skills
- Proven experience as a commercial electrician with a strong understanding of NEC standards.
- Hands-on experience with industrial electrician tasks and construction site operations.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other electrical testing devices.
- Knowledge of low voltage and high voltage electrical systems in commercial settings.
- Familiarity with renovation projects and framing carpentry as they relate to electrical installations.
- Handyman experience is a plus for versatile troubleshooting across various building systems.
- Ability to interpret schematics accurately and follow detailed instructions precisely.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) in industrial environments is advantageous.
