We are looking for a highly detail-oriented, organized, and dependable individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is punctual, flexible with time commitments, and capable of managing the complete technical design process for assigned children’s apparel programs from development through production.
Key Responsibilities
* Create and maintain detailed technical specification (spec) sheets.
* Develop and update garment measurements, grading, tolerances, and construction details.
* Measure fit samples and provide comprehensive fit evaluation comments.
* Attend and lead garment fittings, taking detailed and accurate fit notes.
* Collaborate with design, production, and vendors to ensure fit, quality, and construction standards are met.
* Possess a strong understanding of garment fit, body measurements, flat specs, grading, and fabric/trim stretch characteristics.
* Troubleshoot fit and construction issues while maintaining design intent throughout the development process.
* Manage multiple styles and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
Qualifications
* Previous experience as a Technical Designer, preferably in children’s apparel.
* Strong knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, grading, and fit.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Experience with PLM systems and Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
