- Maintain appropriate expertise in the field of Nursing through continuing professional development.
- Build meaningful relationships and collaborate effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written formats, tailored to diverse audiences and contexts.
- Manage multiple students with different learning styles in the open lab space efficiently
- Work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate a strong sense of initiative.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience
- Master’s degree in nursing education
- Prior experience in clinical instruction or laboratory teaching
- Familiarity with the NCLEX test plan and nursing education standards
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to 25 pounds with proper equipment; reasonable accommodations available.
- Requires mobility to demonstrate and assist with clinical procedures
- Light physical activity required; must be able to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment, and communicate effectively in various formats.
- Primarily daytime hours with some evening and weekends to support the different nursing sections.
- Supervise and support nursing students in an open lab environment, ensuring safe and appropriate practice of clinical skills
- Guide students in the development and mastery of essential nursing skills aligned with course and program competencies
- Assist students in applying critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and sound judgment during hands-on practice and simulated scenarios
- Provide timely, constructive, and individualized feedback to students to support skill development and academic progression
- Monitor student performance and identify learning needs, offering guidance to help ensure students remain on track for clinical and academic success
- Collaborate with nursing faculty to reinforce course objectives, address student learning gaps, and support overall student achievement
- Maintain consistent communication with nursing faculty regarding student progress, concerns, and areas requiring additional support
- Reinforce program policies, professional standards, and safe nursing practices in all lab activities
- Maintain a safe, organized, and effective clinical learning environment that promotes student engagement and confidence
- Utilize simulation, demonstration, and guided practice to enhance clinical competency and readiness for patient care
