- Assists with onboarding, orientation, training, and ongoing competency assessment of technologists and new hires.
- Supports leadership in performance management through the talent care process, performance reviews, and providing coaching opportunities for team member development.
- Collaborates with radiologists, leadership, and other departments to facilitate timely and coordinated imaging services.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives, including image quality audits, repeat analysis, and process improvement projects.
- Ensures proper equipment functionality and coordinates preventative maintenance.
- Participates in scheduling, timekeeping, and supply inventory management to support operational efficiency and budget goals.
- Provides day-to-day supervision of technologists, support staff, and imaging operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
- Coordinates daily workflow and staffing assignments, balancing patient volumes, technologist availability, and room utilization.
- Serves as a clinical resource to technologists, students, and other staff, offering guidance on protocols, positioning, image quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitors and supports compliance with departmental policies, radiation safety guidelines, ALARA principles, and regulatory/accreditation standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to prioritize and handle simultaneous assignments with frequent interruptions while paying close attention to the details
- Ability to meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities and work styles
- Ability to practice discretion when discussing confidential personnel/patient related issues
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Data analysis expertise
- Proficiency with business software, including all Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to be self-motivated
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Ability to monitor staff productivity and provide coaching feedback to increase quality and productivity standards
- Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry
- Ability to use sound judgment in emergency scenarios
- Ability to delegate clinical tasks/assign clinical activities to implement plans of care
- A high level of multitasking, organization, and proactive customer service skills
- Must possess sound judgment, critical thinking skills, ability to manage multiple details, tasks, and decision-making abilities under busy and stressful working conditions
- Knowledge of all aspects of diagnostic imaging within the scope of requested procedures for the diagnostic radiology department
- Ability to appropriately supervise departmental staff in all aspects of employee support functions
- Knowledge of communication styles and constant deployment of proper engagement behaviors when encountering patients, staff, and physicians
- Good communication skills, as well as knowledge of department and hospital policies
