Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan and carry out instructional duties that maximize learning by students.
- Supervise students in accordance with program procedures, academic, and course-related concerns.
- Teach assigned courses in accordance with course descriptions.
- Assist with registration and/or recruitment when requested.
- Syllabus must be submitted by the designated date according to LSSC policy and Florida State Board Rule.
- Ensure that each student receives a course syllabus detailing performance objectives, course expectations, grading procedures, withdrawal and attendance policies, and faculty office phone and email contact information.
- Attend all scheduled or called meetings by the President or Vice President of Academic Affairs, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, Deans, LSSC supervisor, unless excused by the administrator in charge.
- Teach all classes for the full period as scheduled.
- Evaluate student progress and achievement with clear methods presented on the course syllabus.
- Utilizes evaluation results for planning, instruction, counseling, and program modification.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records.
- Submit grade reports and other required data on or before the deadline dates.
- Resolve discipline problems within the sphere of responsibility.
- Assist and counsel students as needed.
- Utilize the necessary materials and equipment to accomplish designated tasks.
- Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional developments.
- Regularly examines assigned course content and recommends changes to the LSSC supervisor as needed. Any additions, revisions, or supplemental materials incorporated into the course must be compliant with ADA accessibility standards and institutional accessibility requirements.
- Comply with appropriate administrative rules/regulations and Board Policy.
- Participate in an annual evaluation process as specified by the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
- Maintain continuity of communication with students, the community, faculty, staff, and supervisors by responding promptly to meetings, phone calls, mail, and email requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Adhere to all workplace safety rules, safety laws, regulations, standards, and practices
- Ability to work various hours, including nights, early mornings, and weekends
- Ability to travel amongst various campuses and attend College events, on or off campus, as required.
Minimum Qualifications & Education
- Required:
- Master’s degree in accounting, or a master’s degree in another field with at least 18 graduate-level semester hours in accounting.

- Industry experience in the accounting profession.
