As a Senior Developer/Analyst for our internal applications team, the candidate will work with other developers and stakeholders from various departments to provide support in the process of designing, developing, implementing and maintaining internal system applications.

Job Description:

• Work with databases/operating systems used by the Lamps Plus internal applications development team
  • DB2 for IBMi, MySQL, OracleDB, MS SQL
  • Linux, IBMi
• Create new and modify existing applications using development skills and methods used in traditional IBMi development
  • RPGLE, CL, SQL, DDS, DDL
• Become acquainted with and proficient with tools used by Lamps Plus internal applications development team
  • Rational Developer for i (RDI), Access Client Services (ACS), Websmart (ILE), TD/OMS Change Management, X-analysis
• Work in and become familiar with test and production environments and the various systems that the Lamps Plus internal applications development team is responsible for as well as the third party applications we are connected to.
• Learn and apply new techniques for modernization of the DB2 for IBMi database and applications that access it.
• Take an active role in meetings with users, working with them to solve business problems and requests at hand. This can include managing small to medium projects for the department.
• Work with less experienced developers to serve as a mentor and help provide on the job training and knowledge as well as assistance with tasks assigned to less experienced developers.
• Complete advanced programming tasks as assigned by team management and project leads. These tasks will require the developer to be primarily responsible for the system analysis and design of a solution to the particular development opportunity (A.K.A. Full Stack Development).
• Must be able to work under deadline pressure. Working hours are normally 40 hours per week, but there will times when extra working hours are required to meet project deadlines set by the business.

• Become acquainted with and proficient in skills and methods using PHP frameworks
  • Laravel, Symfony, Bootstrap, Vue.JS
• Become acquainted with and proficient with the web development tools used by the Lamps Plus back end development team.
  • Github, Gitlab, Gitbash, VS Code, Websmart (PHP), Google Cloud Services, AWS
• Grow in knowledge and use of web related development languages
  • PHP, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, XML, JSON, and others

Job Requirements:

• 5+ years of application development experience on IBMi Platform
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in IT
• Excellent writing, communication and time management skills. Must work well with others in a team.
• Skilled in Microsoft office suite
• Experience in application development using RPGLE, CLLE, DDS, DDL
• Experience in data access languages, specifically SQL
• Proficient in working with databases across multiple platforms.
• Serve on Production Support rotation
• Serve on Off Hours Support rotation
• Experience in managing small to medium sized business projects

Nice to Haves:

• Full Stack Development
• IBMi systems experience
• Experience with Laravel, Symfony, Bootstrap, Vue.JS
• Experience in PHP, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, CSS, XML, and JSON
