Medical Assistant Float Bilingual - Central Houston (Job Overview)
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8AM-5PM)

- Play a vital role in patient diagnostics by administering injections and drawing blood.

Key Responsibilities
- Interview patients with empathy to gather medical information and measure vital signs, weight, and height.
- Record patients' medical history and vital statistics with precision in medical records.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing with care.
- Assist physicians with examinations and treatments, ensuring patient comfort.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms for patient examinations with attention to detail.
- Ensure cleanliness and sterilization of instruments and proper disposal of contaminated supplies.
- Communicate with clients regarding test results and health concerns, providing clarity and reassurance.
- Perform phlebotomy and administer medications as ordered, contributing to patient wellness.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient care to maintain high standards.
- Manage exam room supplies and adhere to safety protocols diligently.
- Participate actively in the Performance Improvement Program to enhance service quality.
- Promote a respectful and professional environment for both patients and team members.
- Work collaboratively within a primary care medical home model, fostering teamwork.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- BLS/CPR Certification required.
- Up to one year experience.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service skills.
- Basic front desk, clerical or healthcare support specialist skills/experience.
- Ability to work with clinical staff, works well under pressure, and multitask within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to the concepts of preventive health care and team approach to health care delivery.
- Experience working with computers and Microsoft Office applications.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Phlebotomy skills preferred.
- Experience with electronic medical records, preferred.
