Purpose: Contribute to the Christian mission of the university by providing detailed and accurate contributions to our accounting team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and enter journal entries into accounting software.
- Assist with month end close process.
- Assist with the processing of internal payment systems records and other forms.
- Assist with year-end close and audit.
- Check for accuracy in reports, figures, and postings.
- Provide prompt assistance to other accountants and departments as needed or requested.
- Other general accounting duties and special projects as necessary.
EXPECTATION OF ALL STAFF:
- On time attendance.
- Cooperation and collaboration with team members and cross functionality.
- Respect for Letourneau leadership and authority structures.
- Agreement with and abiding by the Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
- Associates or college degree preferred
- Accounting/bookkeeping and/or accounts payable clerk experience preferred.
- Ability to use a computer and knowledge of standard and specific business applications, such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), computerized accounting, and ability to learn new software applications.
- Quick learner and able to respond well to multi-task environment
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality
- Highly motivated, energetic, and dedicated individual with personal and professional integrity
