LC State invites applications for the position of Sonography Program Director/Instructor.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $75,000 - $80,000.
Degree required: Bachelor's degree in the radiologic science field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Required Qualifications:
- Possess a credential in the field of registered sonographer
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a registered sonographer in the sonography field
- Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Access database
- The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, resourceful, and able to work autonomously within a collaborative and dynamic faculty group
- Idaho State CTE teaching certification or ability to obtain within 3 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Documented education or experience in instructional methodology, curriculum design/development, and program planning
- Experience with program accreditation
- Experience teaching in a clinical lab setting
- Experience recruiting, advising, and mentoring students
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and develop strong internal and external partnerships
- Demonstrated ability to provide direction and oversight to staff/students/student workers
Responsibilities:
The Program Director for the Sonography program is a 12-month full-time non-tenure-track professional staff member/ Instructor who will manage all aspects of the Sonography program. The Program Director must provide effective leadership for the program including, but not limited to, responsibility for communication, ongoing program planning and assessment, and fiscal management. The Program Director's administrative responsibilities include: fiscal planning; program planning and development; ongoing review and analysis of all program activities; ensuring that, in all aspects, the program meets the requirements of the accreditation Standards. Educational responsibilities include curriculum development and ongoing review in addition to teaching.
The Program Director manages all clinical lab functions including inventory management (monitoring and ordering of all student supplies), set-up for all lab sessions, and is an instructor for the didactic and lab courses needed for Sonography program completion. This position sets up, maintains, and monitors all equipment and testing activities. This position will plan, evaluate, budget, and assist in the selection of adjunct faculty and staff for the Sonography program. Maintain professional development requirements. Coordinate the schedule of Sonography program offerings. Collaborate with industry partners, healthcare facilities, and employers to ensure the program meets workforce demands, participating on the Sonography program Technical Advisory Committee. Attend meetings and prepare and submit appropriate CTE reports. Maintain CTE instructor certification requirements.
Additional duties include direct and indirect activities to support recruitment and retention of students.
