Position Objective – Sales Associate: The primary role of the Sales Associate is to assist customers in making landscape projects easy. You are the front line of our business. This position exists only from February 15th thru June 15th, annually.
The responsibilities of the Sales Associate are:
1.It is expected that the Sales Associate will help increase sales.
2.Help customers with landscape solutions. Make sure every customer is met and greeted with a smile and ask if we can help them.
3.Providing information on products, including how to care for product, watering and sun needs and any other information that will assist in educating the customer on the product or products they are purchasing.
4.Help customers make selections by building customer confidence, offering suggestions and opinions and educating the customers.
5.Answer the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner making your best attempt to answer questions and solve problems. Return emails and online requests promptly.
6.Become proficient in CounterPoint, including preparing sales receipts and invoices, as necessary. One of our company goals is to get customers in and out as quickly, simply, and easily as possible.
7.Maintain accurate signs throughout the yard.
8.Support the management team in their efforts to build long-term and mutually beneficial relationships with our contractors.
9.Pull plants for customers/jobs and push plants into inventory after receiving them.
10.Maintain the inventory (pull weeds, prune & deadhead, sweeping, organizing, etc.)
11.Some sales associates may be asked to help with tractor and vehicle operation.
12.Sales Associates are expected to be able to handle the physical demands of the job, including but not limited to, being able to lift 50 lbs. or more and withstand outdoor temperatures for extended periods of time.

13.Adhere to company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
14.Answering the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner making your best attempt to answer questions and solve problems.
15.It is expected that you will become familiar with our policies and procedures reviewing them for ways to better the processes to be able to standardize and implement them easier in the future.
16.Maintain store appearance by vacuuming, emptying trash cans, cleaning counters and windows, straightening showroom, update in-store merchandising and keeping area neat.
17.Solve problems to the best of your ability as they arise. There are not many emergencies in this business so many situations need to be dealt with reasonably until they can be discussed with ownership and a permanent solution can be established. Most important, if you’re not sure ask and never be afraid to tell the customer you don’t know.
18.Adhere to strict confidentiality of company financial figures, including our cost, profit margins and gross sales. Violation of this policy is subject to immediate termination.
19.Keep track of time on PayCor automated time clock system.

21.Other duties as assigned.
Hourly Expectations:
Typically, the Sales Associate position is 40 hours/week, although some exceptions may occur due to weather, customer needs or other situations. Part-time employee hours will differ. Exact start times are determined by your manager and may depend on weather, sunlight, project demands and other factors. Finish time each day will depend on job progress, commitments made to the customer and other scheduling factors. Flexibility will be required. This job will typically be 40 hours per week but could fluctuate some in either direction. This is a seasonal position and is available from 2/15 thru 6/15.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
