Position Summary
The Electrical Assembler is responsible for installing, routing, and terminating electrical systems in custom emergency vehicles. This role plays a critical part in building reliable, mission-ready ambulances by following detailed schematics, work instructions, and quality standards. Attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to safety are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and assemble electrical components including wiring harnesses, lighting, switches, control panels, sirens, and power distribution systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and work instructions
- Route, loom, secure, and label wiring according to company standards and industry best practices
- Perform terminations, crimping, soldering, and connector installation
- Test electrical systems for functionality, troubleshoot issues, and correct defects
- Follow SOPs, quality checks, and documentation requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Collaborate with team members, team leads, and other departments to meet production schedules
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality, safety, and efficiency
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1+ year of electrical assembly experience (manufacturing, automotive, RV, marine, or similar industries preferred)
- Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment
- Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and work in confined spaces within vehicles
Preferred Experience
- Experience in ambulance, emergency vehicle, automotive, or specialty vehicle manufacturing
- Knowledge of 12V/24V DC systems
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or structured production environments
- IPC/WHMA or similar electrical certification (a plus, not required)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Contingencies of Employment
- Successful completion of a background check, pre-employment drug screen and physical examination
- Successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, if applicable to the position
