The Lead Registered Behavior Technician level 1 will be a staff member in Therapy Services. The major focus of this position is to provide training, support, and direction to the Trainee, Behavior Technicians (BT) and Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) positions in implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) protocols and procedures. This staff member will work directly with clients as needed and assist Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) in program and behavior plan update and development in conjunction with the Directors, BCBAs, or other LOGAN therapy team members.
Requirements:Essential Functions
- Implements 1:1 instructional and behavioral intervention programs with all assigned clients following the ABA treatment plan developed by a BCBA.
- Participates in all required training activities including, but not limited to: The fundamental principles of ABA, discrete trial teaching techniques, management of maladaptive behaviors, child development, and data collection techniques applicable to the clients on the Behavior Technician’s caseload.
- Observes and records child’s behavior and progress on goals as indicated by the BCBA.
- Provide assistance during the arrival and departure of clients to all teams
- Accurately completes daily documentation of services provided as required for billing, reviewing EMR systems
- Participates in meetings regarding the client’s ABA program.
- Participates in monthly parent meeting for specific clients when assigned by BCBA or Director.
- Communicates with supervisory staff on a regular basis.
- Arrives promptly at service location and engages in productive work activity until the end of the assigned shift.
- Respects the wishes of the family as outlined in the Family Services Agreement
- The Behavior Technician is required to be absolutely scrupulous in respecting the confidentiality of the client and his/her family
- Maintains a professional relationship with the family at all times, refrains from sharing personal information about self or others. Does not share complaints about employer (LOGAN), redirects family to supervisory personnel when family expresses concerns about LOGAN services.
- Work as a team member to develop and enhance the services provided by LOGAN. Maintains a cooperative and respectful relationship with all staff and management.
- Provides information to the accounting department needed for billing for services provided with accuracy and within the designated time frame.
- Demonstrates cultural competency in providing consistent high quality services to individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultural circumstances.
- Provide assistance during the arrival and departure of clients.
- Assist with the development of training materials as needed.
- Work with other staff members to ensure the center is safe and is a health environment. Report housekeeping and/or maintenance needs as they arise.
- Work with clients in home-based settings when necessary.
- Will be responsible for supervising staff as assigned, including (but not limited to) handling time cards, disciplinary issues, and annual reviews.
- Assist with writing programs and behavior plans as needed for each client as determined by BCBA and submit to BCBA for approval in a timely fashion.
- Conduct client assessments and assist with writing treatment plans.
- Provide training, direction, and feedback to BT/RBT staff on the implementation of all programs and behavior plans after consulting with BCBAs and/or the Director.
- Monitor the implementation of programs and behavior plans and seek immediate assistance from the BCBAs as needed.
- Train staff in program data collection and assist BCBAs in the analysis of data and program revisions.
- Communicate program revisions to Behavior Technicians and provide training on program revisions at the direction of the Directors and BCBAs.
- Assist in conducting staff team meetings for each client with the BCBA on at least a monthly basis.
- Provide formal feedback to staff using a standard observation and feedback form as assigned by the BCBA.
- Make modifications to staffing schedule when necessary.
General Responsibilities
- Responsible for the health & safety of individuals served.
- Represent LOGAN in a positive way in the community.
- Serve as an advocate & protect the dignity & human rights of individuals served.
- Willingness to work a 40-hour per week schedule.
- Serve as an example for staff in terms of good employee practices, including (but not limited to) excellent attendance and strict adherence to LOGAN policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Taking classes toward BCBA or BCaBA highly preferred
Experience
- Strong knowledge/experience working with individuals with ASD required
- One year of experience running ABA programs required, two years preferred
- Two years of experience working at LOGAN preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent ability to communicate with families and other professionals
- Experience in developing and conducting staff training
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required
- Ability to sit & use computer keyboard
- Ability to kneel, bend, & reach
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
