Shift: Clinic works 7 days a week 24/7, shifts will vary depending on the facility needs

Job Description
The Medical Support Assistant will perform essential administrative, clerical, and patient coordination duties to ensure smooth daily operations and high-quality patient care delivery within the Great Plains Area Regional Drug Dependency Unit (GPARDDU).
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)Must have training and at least 24 months of direct patient care experience within the last 48 months
Certification in BLS in compliance with the American Heart Association
Must have proof of vaccinations and all health requirements set forth by Indian Health Services including but not limited to a PPD or TB Gold, Annual Influenza Vaccination, MMR, Tdap, Varicella, and Hep B
Must be able to physically complete all trainings and requirements set forth by Indian Health Service and Great Plains Area Drug Dependency Unit
Responsibilities:
Manage patient check-ins, scheduling, admissions, and discharge tracking for the residential unit
Maintain accurate medical documentation, patient charts, and files in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
Coordinate patient data, phone communications, and messages between families, medical staff, and community agencies
Verify patient information, tribal enrollment documents, and health coverage program eligibility
Handle medical records in strict compliance with HIPAA and Indian Health Service (IHS) privacy regulations
Provide helpful, respectful customer service to support patients navigating substance abuse recovery services
