The Role
In this role of a Senior Lead Software Engineer, the individual will have the opportunity to shape the future of technology by leading the design, delivery, and integration of innovative software solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes. This person will partner with stakeholders to transform complex business needs into scalable, forward-thinking solutions while influencing architectural direction and technology strategy. Working with emerging and established technologies, the individual will explore new possibilities, champion best practices, and help define the standards, metrics, and methodologies that guide organizational success. This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact, collaborate with talented teams, and expand professional expertise while building solutions that support the business today and create opportunities for tomorrow.
The Main Responsibilities
- Define and lead SAP technical architecture, roadmap, governance, and modernization initiatives across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Lead SAP implementation, upgrade, migration, and S/4HANA transformation projects, including Brownfield, Greenfield, Selective Data Transition, and RISE with SAP initiatives.
- Manage and support SAP landscapes including S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, BTP, Fiori, Gateway, Cloud ALM, SAC, Ariba, Data Services, and related platforms.
- Oversee SAP Basis and HANA administration, including installations, upgrades, transport management, system refreshes, backup/recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and capacity planning.
- Drive SAP performance optimization through workload analysis, database tuning, memory management, monitoring, and root cause analysis.
- Design and implement SAP Cloud ALM observability solutions, including health, integration, business process, job, and user monitoring, along with operational dashboards and reporting.
- Administer SAP BTP services and cloud technologies, including Integration Suite, Build solutions, Event Mesh, Launchpad Services, and Cloud Transport Management.
- Implement DevOps, CI/CD, automation, scripting, APIs, and cloud-native services to improve operational efficiency.
- Design and manage SAP security, identity, authentication, authorization, SSO, MFA, IAS/IPS, Azure Entra ID, SAML, OAuth, and OIDC integrations.
- Leverage AI, automation, and predictive analytics to enhance system reliability, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with business, infrastructure, security, SAP, and third-party stakeholders to deliver strategic initiatives and resolve critical issues.
- Support ITIL-based service management processes, including incident, problem, change, and release management, while maintaining technical documentation and mentoring team members.
- 15+ years of SAP Basis and technical architecture experience with deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA, HANA, BW/4HANA, BTP, Fiori, Cloud ALM, Integration Suite, SAC, Ariba, and related technologies.
- Extensive experience with SAP upgrades, ECC-to-S/4HANA migrations, cloud migrations, database migrations, Unicode conversions, and lifecycle management tools such as SWPM, SUM, DMO, and Maintenance Planner.
- Strong expertise in SAP cloud platforms, security frameworks, database administration (HANA, DB2, Oracle), Linux and Windows operating systems, Azure, hybrid cloud environments, monitoring, performance tuning, and automation frameworks.
What We Look For in a Candidate
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP Certified Technology Associate – SAP S/4HANA System Administration.
- SAP Certified Technology Specialist – SAP HANA or SAP BTP Administration Certification.
- SAP Cloud ALM Certification and/ or Microsoft Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect Certification.
- Experience with RISE with SAP implementations and/ or Experience with SAP ILM and data retention strategies.
- Familiarity with OpenText, Convergent IS, Dassian, Winshuttle, and other SAP ecosystem products.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and governance models.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

$138,844 - $185,124 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI
$145,456 - $193,940 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
