Magruder Medical Clinic is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced outpatient clinic setting. In this role, you'll support physicians and advanced practice providers by delivering high-quality clinical care, coordinating patient services, and ensuring a positive patient experience. What You’ll Do

Patient Care & Clinical Support

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, health histories, and medication updates.
• Administer immunizations, injections, and medications as directed by providers.
• Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs), point-of-care testing, and other clinical procedures.
• Assist physicians during minor surgical procedures and patient treatments.

Patient Coordination & Communication

• Triage patient phone calls and communicate clinical information under provider direction.
• Schedule referrals, specialist appointments, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care.
• Educate patients on test preparation, procedures, and expected results.
• Coordinate prior authorizations and insurance verification for diagnostic services.

Clinical Operations

• Perform Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA)-waived laboratory testing and accurately document results.
• Draw blood specimens when certified and maintain proper specimen handling procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms, laboratory supplies, medications, and vaccine inventory.
• Support prescription refill requests and medication assistance programs.

Electronic Medical Records & Documentation

• Accurately document patient care within the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Retrieve hospital records, specialist notes, discharge summaries, and diagnostic results.
• Maintain complete, timely, and HIPAA-compliant patient documentation.

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Current Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to maintain certification throughout employment.
• Strong clinical skills, including administering injections, vaccines, medication management, and emergency response.
• Proficiency using electronic medical record (EMR) systems with excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.

Preferred

• Minimum one year of Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) experience in a physician office, outpatient clinic, or ambulatory care setting.
• Venipuncture experience and proficiency performing blood draws.
• Experience with CLIA-waived laboratory testing, patient education, referrals, and insurance prior authorizations.
