To provide physical or corrective treatment of any musculoskeletal, skin, or neurological condition by use of physical, chemical, heat, light, water, sound, massage, and active, passive, and resistive exercise, and shall include physical therapy evaluation, treatment planning and modification, instruction and consultative services.Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:
EDUCATION
B.A. or B.S. degree with completion of course work in a school or schools approved by the Physical Therapy Examining Committee so as to qualify for licensure by the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs
EXPERIENCE
One year as a licensed Physical Therapist in acute care hospital setting or equivalent preferred. A new graduate is acceptable unless a specific number of years experience is required at the time of hire due to the needs of the department
LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Physical Therapist Required at hire
Basic Life Support Required at hire
Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire
PREREQUISITE SKILLS
1. Evaluation, accurate assessment, design of appropriate treatment plans, and execution of skilled treatment in keeping with current practices and their application in the field of physical therapy
2. Ability to read, speak, write, understand and follow English verbal and written instruction
3. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work
4. Ability to complete documentation as per policy and procedure
