Join our team as a Senior Corporate Applications Analyst within the Corporate Finance Department, ERP Business Operations Group. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission Enterprise Financial systems by ensuring operational efficiency, data integrity, and technical accuracy.
This position is responsible for providing both functional and technical support for the ERP finance system, including system configuration, business analysis, data reporting, and troubleshooting. The Senior Corporate Applications Analyst is a critical link between business users, technical teams, and vendors, helping to optimize processes and enhance system performance across the organization.
Examples of Important Duties
Business Analysis and Report Development
- Gather, document, and translate business, functional, and technical requirements into clear specifications and guidance.
- Analyze processes and reporting needs to identify automation, efficiency, compliance, and decision-support improvements.
- Validate reporting requirements and train users on system features, reports, and processes.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Write and optimize SQL queries to retrieve, validate, reconcile, and analyze data across integrated systems.
- Develop and automate scheduled and ad hoc reports that support decision-making, compliance, and process improvement.
- Validate data accuracy and present findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
System Configuration and Change Management
- Manage system updates, configurations, patches, and customizations through approved change control and governance processes.
- Develop test scripts, perform regression testing, validate changes, and maintain documentation for audit readiness and knowledge sharing.
- Assess configuration risks and recommend mitigation strategies to support compliance and system stability.
Working Conditions
- Accuracy and attention to detail are essential; the position may occasionally require overtime, after-hours, weekend, or on-call work.
- The role may involve high volume of work and tight deadlines at peak periods.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems or any related field.
- Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in business analysis or related experience that includes experience with functional software applications (e.g., enterprise financial, supply change management system, human resources information system), which includes configuration maintenance, troubleshooting training and end-user support
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total eight (8) years.
