Infusion Registered Nurse
Position Overview:
The Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients receiving infusion therapies in the outpatient setting. The nurse performs comprehensive patient assessments; administers chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, blood products, biologic agents, supportive medications, and other outpatient infusion therapies; monitors for treatment-related complications and infusion reactions; and provides patient and caregiver education throughout the continuum of care. The Infusion Nurse collaborates closely with providers, pharmacy, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe medication administration, regulatory compliance, and efficient daily operations while promoting exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs related to their diagnosis and treatment.
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusion treatments according to established protocols. Monitor patients for adverse reactions and manage side effects effectively.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including oncologists and physicians. nurse navigators, social workers, and pharmacists, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide education to patients and their families about cancer treatments, side effects, and supportive care options. Empower patients to make informed decisions about their care.
- Offer compassionate support and counseling to patients and families, addressing their concerns and emotional needs throughout the treatment process.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs, laboratory results, and overall progress. Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic health records.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring that patients' rights and preferences are respected throughout their care journey.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety within the oncology unit.
- Be prepared to respond to emergencies related to patient care, including administering life-saving measures as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Working irregular hours including after hours
- Ability to assist in evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting and perform other common physical movements as needed for the position.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of oncology medications and treatment protocols
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
Education and Experience:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Experience: Previous nursing experience in oncology or a related field is preferred, but new graduates with a strong interest in oncology are encouraged to apply.

- Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

Certifications:
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required.
- ONS Chemotherapy Biotherapy Certificate required within 6 months of hire.
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification is preferred or encouraged.
