MedScript LTC Pharmacy is looking for a licensed Pharmacy Technician for the 7on/7off overnight shift.
The available shift is 7:30pm - 6am. The schedule runs from Wednesday - Tuesday (7 days ON/ 7days OFF).
* This position also qualifies for a $2,000 sign-on bonus!
The primary purpose of this position is to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and rules related to Long Term Care pharmacy. The role for the Pharmacy Fulfillment Technician is to assist in pulling and filling medications for our residents. We ensure the highest quality standards of practice for our long term care facilities.
Primary Duties:
- Assist the pharmacist in pulling & filling medications
- Retrieve medications from stock, retrieve/sort labels, & fill medication orders through a variety of methods
- Count, measure and pre-pack medications
- Locate missing labels and assist with backorders
- Operate DOSIS machines by monitoring & pulling empty canisters to ensure the machines remain stocked with the necessary drugs
- Routine maintenance of the DOSIS machines to keep the machines clean and running properly
- Identify quality-related errors and correct these issues as necessary
- Assist the pharmacist with STATS
- Assist the pharmacist with PV2 override
- Use pharmacy software for barcode verification for prescription processing
- Sort medications to the appropriate totes (specified routes) to assist with delivery
- Follow established inventory procedures and manage out-of-stock issues
- Stock supplies such as bags, boxes, ice packs, etc.
- Other duties and/or projects as required and assigned
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent. Pharmacy Technician License required.
Experience:
Must have at least one year of pharmacy experience, preferably in long term care.
Work Traits
- Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws and guidelines
- Ability to identify & solve problems
- Ability to work with others as part of a team AND must also be able to work independently
- Must be able to work the overnight shift (7:30pm - 6am)
- Must be able to work every other weekend
- Ability to operate office machines and pharmacy automation (DOSIS machines) which does not require special training or certification; training will be provided on the job.
