Job Summary

We are looking to hire four or five hard-working, team-oriented, and reliable Servers to join our core team at Mellow Mushroom Mount Pleasant. As a server, you will be the face of our restaurant, providing outstanding guest service while efficiently handling multiple tables, running food, and completing running sidework that helps ensure the restaurant runs smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of service
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using the Aloha POS system
• Serve food and drinks promptly, including wine, spirits, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages
• Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and increase sales
• Process cash transactions accurately while handling credit card payments via Aloha
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all service areas, including bussing tables and food handling
• Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and ensuring overall satisfaction

Requirements

• Must be able to commute to North Mount Pleasant consistently
• Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred, but not required
• Knowledge of or experience with POS systems such as Aloha, Toast, etc. is preferred, but not required
• Experience with beverage service including spirits, wine, cocktails, and alcohol handling regulations is preferred, but not required
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
• Ability to upsell menu items confidently to maximize sales opportunities
• Ability to understand and process transactions accurately, managing a combination of cash and non-cash payments
• Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices in the food industry
• Great work-ethic and team-oriented disposition. What a candidate lacks in experience, they can more than make up for with a solid work-ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
