The Instrument Technician, Gas Meter Shop will maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate
a wide range of electronic equipment, ensuring compliance with DOT
regulations; install, adjust, and repair instruments; conduct calibration tests and
gas analysis; maintain records in systems for accuracy and audits; communicate
with various areas to ensure EVC functionality, train new technicians, handle
emergencies, maintain inventory and vendor transactions for operational
efficiency/customer service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Responsible for calibrating,
troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electronic, electromechanical,
mechanical instruments/equipment for SCADA and LNG plants to ensure
regulatory compliance; clean, repair, calibrate, record instruments, install and
maintain wiring, record devices, computers, analyze wiring diagrams as needed;
stay current with advancements in instrument technology, maintain certifications,
ensure compliance with evolving industry standards; install, adjust, and position
instruments, equipment, flow computers and testing, wiring, programming,
upgrading, and replacing communication modules as needed; analyze customer
electronic test results to ensure billing accuracy, address customer inquiries
related to meter or billing issues, accurately document customer setup and
service order requests; perform gravity, dew point, BTU, and other gas analysis;
ensure accurate flow rate calculations at gate stations; witness and verify
calibrations performed by pipeline personnel, inspect industrial gas meters for
leaks or damage, and assist with installing, removing, and replacing meter sets
associated with EVC metering; enter test results and repair records into
designated systems to ensure billing accuracy, support audits, and maintain
equipment maintenance records; order supplies, maintain inventory and stock
records to ensure budget accountability. Create new services in CIS; ensure
registers are set correctly for billing purposes. Enter data into Clevest to
complete scheduled work, train new Electronic Instrument Technicians,
coordinate with other crews to respond to emergencies, and facilitate
communication and scheduling between multiple teams and shops, maintain
vendor transactions related to EVC metering. Perform other duties as directed.
Must obtain OQ Certification within 6 months of entering into role.
A valid driver''s license from state of residence is required.
EDUCATION Associate degree in Electronics Technology or related degree is required. Must
successfully complete Placement/Performance exercises.
EXPERIENCE Electronic Troubleshooting; basic wiring and schematics, basic electronic skills is
required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Must be able to distinguish colors. Must successfully complete NIMS Training
within one year of entering job. Must have knowledge/skills in Instrumentation,
PLC Logic, Logic Controllers local area network communications and associated
software. Works inside and outside under all conditions. Work Environment:
Subject to hazards of weather, standing/walking for extended periods and
working in uncomfortable positions. Physical Demands: Work in tight/confined
spaces, bending, kneeling, crawling, stooping, climbing, lifting. Subject to lifting
up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
