AGENCY BACKGROUND:
MercyFirst is a not-for-profit human and social service agency that has been serving children and families in need since we were founded by the Sisters of Mercy/Hermanas de las Misericordia in 1894. Today our agency continues to address the emotional and physical needs of children and families in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island and across Long Island through innovative treatments and life-changing interventions. We provide community-based prevention and family foster care services, group homes in the community for struggling children and families within the child welfare and juvenile justice systems, and short-term residential services for unaccompanied migrant children. Each year, MercyFirst serves more than 3,000 children, teenagers and families overcome enormous obstacles, re-imagine their futures and develop their full potential.
PROGRAM BACKGROUND:
Mercy First partnered with ACS to establish a new Clinical Support Program to serve families experiencing challenges with unmet clinical needs in the borough of Queens. The Clinical Support program is an interdisciplinary team of licensed clinicians and support staff, all of whom support families navigating challenges in the areas of mental health, addiction, and IPV. The Clinical Support team works with CPS Teams and/or directly with impacted families to ensure optimal service delivery. The team assists with family engagement approaches, with assessing/screening for the most pressing needs, and with identifying and facilitating connections to relevant resources.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for general oversight and administration of all aspects of programming and will report to the Vice President. The qualified candidate will provide leadership, direction and support to the program’s supervisory staff and their respective clinical teams. The Program Director must possess previous experience in providing services to IPV families and families with substance use disorder histories. The Program Director is responsible for ensuring all the requirements of the program regulations are met, that staff are recruited, trained and properly supervised. Near the LIRR.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- The Director of Clinical Services position requires an LMSW with 5-10 years of clinical supervisory experience or an LCSW or Licensed Psychologist with 5 years of clinical supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership, administrative and supervisory skills with the ability to monitor and implement high volumes of workflows, as well as leading an interdisciplinary team of 21 professionals.
- Familiarity with navigating electronic platforms such as Connections for documentation reviews.
- Strong working knowledge of mental health, substance use and IPV. The ability guide and direct managerial staff in all 3 areas of practice, providing regular supervision and adherence to best practices.
- As with all Child Welfare related positions, this role will require a robust background check, and a clean driving record is encouraged.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Director of Clinical Services will oversee and implement all aspects of the Clinical Support program, according to program design, deliverables and regulations.
- Hire and provide oversight of training for all program staff, which includes 3 full teams at ACS field offices in Queens.
- Responsible for direct supervision of 3 site/program supervisors and will have 3 CASACs, 1 QI coordinator and 1 Training Coordinator who will directly report.
- Monitor and review all program related data and ensure compliance with program requirements and regulations, including regular meetings with QA staff.
- Attend all required meetings and ensure strong collaboration with ACS staff, as well as establish and maintain linkages with other systems that interface with the Clinical Support program.
- Circulate between 3 Queens-based ACS field offices, within walking distance, and ensure day-to-day deliverables for each unit and site.

Salary Range:
$102,000.00 - $105,000.00 Annual, (35 hours/week)
Hiring bonus of $1,000 after 500 worked hours
