Position Overview
As our Lead Maintenance Technician, you'll be a go-to problem-solver and the manager's right hand. Day to day, you'll handle repairs and maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems — no two days look the same. Alongside the hands-on work, you'll help guide and support the team, coordinate the crew's daily work, and keep things running smoothly when the manager is unavailable. Finish carpentry experience is a valued skill that sets the right candidate apart, since many of our projects call for quality carpentry in addition to general maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform finish carpentry — trim, cabinetry, doors, custom installations, and other finish work — to a high standard of quality and craftsmanship.
- Handle carpentry repairs and installations, matching existing finishes and correcting issues with a clean, detailed result.
- Perform repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting across building systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to keep facilities safe and running smoothly.
- Respond to work orders and maintenance requests promptly, including after-hours or on-call support as needed.
- Serve as the manager's right hand — help lead and direct the crew, coordinate daily work, and set the standard for quality and safety.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs, and keep accurate records of completed work, parts used, and tools and equipment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in building maintenance and repair across multiple trades.
- Hands-on finish carpentry experience — an important skill this role relies on.
- General knowledge across the trades — plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Leadership ability and the confidence to help guide a team as the manager's right hand.
- Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the job.
- Valid driver's license.
Compensation
$30–$35 per hour, based on experience. Compensation will reflect the skills, background, and leadership you bring to the team.
