Expeditor
Metals USA - has an immediate opening for an Expeditor, in the Tulsa, OK facility. The Planning & Continuous Improvement Specialist (Expeditor) is responsible for expediting and reporting job status for past-due orders, NCR and re-work parts, and shipping schedules that have been committed to for customers. This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager and must work closely with Account Managers, Operations Supervisors, Shipping, Quality, and General Management. This role requires a very good understanding of all processing steps as well as the ERP system.
Essential Functions:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable Accommodation may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Provides job status information to the Engineering Manager, Account Managers, and General Management by going into the shop and working with multiple processing areas to determine shipping dates and eliminating delays.
- Working to continuously improve processes both on the production floor as well as transactional by collaborating with multiple departments.
- Executes and assists with ERP system maintenance and improvements.
- Planning, facilitating, and executing continuous improvement events at the direction of the Engineering Manager.
- Works with Quality as management's representative for resolving NCRs, customer complaint issues, and defective audit findings.
- Travels to customers as directed to investigate Quality or Shipping issues and reports finding to the Engineering Manager, Account Managers, and General Management.
- Maintains a high level of interaction with Management, Operations, Sales, Quality, and Shipping to ensure that orders are shipped in a timely manner free from defect.
- Establishes and maintains records and reports. Participates in administrative, production, and quality meetings as required.
- Works with the Engineering Manager, Account Managers, and General Management to evaluate, coordinate, and manage outsourced processing.
- Conducts detailed analysis of the current situation that accurately describes the issues.
- Accurately analyzes options including impact and feasibility
- Forges good working relationships with all department managers, supervisors and operations employees.
- Performs projects as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of related experience in a manufacturing/industrial plant is required.
- Ability to diplomatically gather job status info and remove unnecessary delays while also reporting the info back to the appropriate Account Managers.
- Ability to assist with the development of new initiatives.
- Ability to read English (to review and comprehend ERP reports, schematics/blueprints, quality procedures and policy manuals).
- Must possess basic math skills to measure, calibrate and calculate specifications.
- Ability to use specialized tools and machinery.
- Ability to travel overnight as required.
- Must possess proven leadership and business acumen skills.
- Ability to supervise and train staff as needed.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Must have the ability to work with all levels of management and develop critical working relationships.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally & written.
- Must have a professional demeanor and ability to communicate with all departments to foster a success-oriented, deadline driven organization.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism & diplomacy at all times.
- Must have the ability to make timely and sound decisions using good judgment.
- Must have strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

- Must develop a high level of proficiency with the ERP system, Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Physical Requirements:
In a typical workday, employee is sitting, standing, walking, talking seeing, hearing, grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, Ability to lift up to forty (40) lbs. is required. Some travel (10%) by airplane or automobile to other locations is required.

- Shop work has exposure to environmental temperature changes hot & cold when inside industrial warehouse.
