What You'll Do

As our Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist, you'll manage the hiring process from start to finish while ensuring every candidate and new hire experiences the Metro Express culture from day one.

Recruiting Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for assigned positions.

• Partner with location managers to identify hiring needs and obtain approval to open positions.

• Create and post internal and external job advertisements across multiple recruiting platforms.

• Source qualified candidates through job boards, social media, college recruiting, employee referrals, and community partnerships.

• Review applications and conduct initial phone or virtual interviews.

• Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.

• Maintain timely and professional communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.

• Build and maintain talent pipelines for current and future hiring needs.

• Track recruiting metrics, including applicant flow, time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and recruiting source effectiveness.

• Represent Metro Express at recruiting events, job fairs, and community outreach opportunities.

Hiring & Onboarding Responsibilities

• Prepare and extend employment offers.

• Coordinate background checks and pre-employment requirements.

• Manage new hire paperwork through the company's HRIS.

• Ensure completion and compliance of onboarding documentation, including I-9 verification.

• Schedule new hires for orientation and communicate expectations before their first day.

• Partner with the Training Department to facilitate new employee training.

• Track onboarding progress and ensure required documents are completed accurately and on time.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate recruiting and onboarding records.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

• Prepare recruiting and hiring reports for leadership.

• Monitor recruiting budgets and vendor performance.

• Maintain strict confidentiality of applicant and employee information.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, human resources, or employee onboarding.

• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS or applicant tracking systems.

• Ability to build strong relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and operational leaders.

• Professionalism, discretion, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience recruiting high-volume hourly positions.

• Experience facilitating new hire orientation or employee training.

• Knowledge of employment laws and hiring compliance.

• Experience with Paycom or a similar HRIS platform.

• Experience using recruiting platforms such as Indeed, Handshake, or similar applicant sourcing tools.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.

• Occasional travel to Metro Express locations for recruiting, onboarding, and training activities.

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
