Join our Employee Relations team as a Human Resources Assistant III, where you will play a vital role in administrative support with a wide range of employee and labor relations activities in a highly confidential environment. As a HR professional, you will work closely with the HR Section Manager responsible for Employee and Labor Relations to help ensure employee relations matters are managed accurately, efficiently, and with a high level of professionalism.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide administrative support for the day-to-day operations of the Office of Employee Relations.
- Respond to inquiries related to employee relations matters from employees, managers, union representatives, and staff.
- Prepare and maintain employee relations correspondence, reports, records, and other confidential documents.
- Maintains a database of grievances, disciplinary actions, and investigations and other employee relations administrative matters.
- Perform data entry and research by updating and verifying data to ensure accurate records and reporting.
- Coordinate meetings, calendars, travel arrangements, agendas, and other administrative activities.
- Support office operations, purchasing, special projects, and other assignments as needed.
This classification performs work that requires maintaining confidentiality and is routinely privy to matters that either involves confidential information, sensitive personnel issues, or exposure to confidential and sensitive strategic corporate information.

Schedule: 9/80, Monday through Friday /Every other Friday off. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm.
Hybrid: Metropolitan’s current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.
EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant Experience is defined as: experience includes providing administrative support or performing in an employee relations / labor relations function.
Desirable: Experience working in a unionized public-sector environment, including handling confidential employee relations records, grievances, disciplinary actions, leaves, separations, union release time, and unemployment claims.
