The Company

We are partnering with a growing structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication company that has experienced significant expansion in recent years and continues to scale its operations across the Mid-Atlantic region. The organization is known for its strong execution, long-standing customer relationships, and ability to deliver complex fabrication and erection projects for commercial, industrial, and infrastructure clients.

The company operates in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and is seeking to add a Project Manager to support continued growth and increasing project volume. The Role

The Project Manager will oversee structural and miscellaneous steel fabrication projects from contract award through final completion. This individual will be responsible for managing schedules, budgets, materials, subcontractors, and customer communication to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

This role serves as a key link between estimating, purchasing, production, field operations, and customers, requiring strong coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Project Manager will work closely with internal teams and external partners to maintain project timelines, control costs, and ensure high-quality execution.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction or fabrication environment, with experience managing industrial, steel, or construction-related projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage structural and miscellaneous steel projects from award through closeout.
• Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and scope to ensure full understanding of project requirements.
• Develop and maintain project schedules in coordination with fabrication, purchasing, and field teams.
• Coordinate project handoff from Estimating to Operations after award.
• Work closely with Purchasing to ensure timely procurement of materials, subcontracted services, and equipment.
• Monitor project budgets, labor hours, and material costs to maintain profitability targets.
• Track and manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation.
• Serve as primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, engineers, and vendors.
• Coordinate shop drawings, detailing, and approvals to maintain project timelines.
• Work with production leadership to prioritize fabrication schedules.
• Coordinate field installation schedules with erection crews and subcontractors.
• Identify risks, delays, or cost impacts early and develop solutions.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety, quality, and company standards.
• Review invoices, subcontractor billing, and material costs for accuracy.
• Maintain accurate project files, reports, and status updates.
• Participate in project meetings, job site visits, and internal planning meetings.
• Support continuous improvement of project management processes and workflows.
• Assist leadership with forecasting workload, staffing, and material needs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in project management within steel fabrication, construction, or industrial manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of structural steel, miscellaneous metals, or construction project workflows.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Experience working with general contractors, fabricators, and subcontractors.
• Proficiency with project management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel required).
• Experience with budgeting, cost tracking, and schedule management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred but not required.
• Hands-on, proactive, and detail-oriented leadership style.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Compensation & Location

Base Salary: $95,000 – $135,000
Bonus: Discretionary performance bonus
Location: Winchester, VA or Sterling, VA
