POSITION OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals to join our team as Minuteman Food Mart Sales Associate. As a valuable member of our convenience store staff, you will contribute to creating a positive and welcoming environment for our customers. You will be responsible for various tasks related to customer service, cashiering, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean and organized store. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service.
Assist customers in locating products and answering their inquiries about merchandise, pricing, and promotions.
Operate cash registers and POS systems accurately and efficiently to process customer transactions, including cash, credit cards, and other electronic payment methods.
Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including shelves, displays, and product arrangement.
Stock shelves, coolers, and displays with merchandise, ensuring proper rotation and organization of products.
Monitor inventory levels and inform the supervisor when products need to be restocked.
Follow established procedures for handling cash, coupons, and store discounts.
Maintain a working knowledge of all products, including new arrivals and special promotions.
Keep track of expiration dates and remove any expired or damaged products from the shelves.
Follow proper food safety and handling procedures when dealing with perishable items.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations, including assisting in opening and closing procedures.
Handle customer complaints and concerns professionally, escalating issues to the supervisor or manager when necessary.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including safety and security protocols.
Assist with cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
Must have a people first mentality; “Fast Friendly Service with a Smile”.
Prior experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred but not required.
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse customers.
Strong verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with customers and team members.
Basic math skills for handling transactions, making change, and calculating discounts.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Flexibility to work in different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Attention to detail and the ability to organize and arrange merchandise effectively.
Knowledge of cash handling procedures and experience with operating cash registers or POS systems is a plus.
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Physical stamina to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Willingness to learn and follow instructions from supervisors and managers.
