Mitchell County Regional Health Center is in Osage, Iowa located in Mitchell County, which has a population of 10,600 people. MCRHC is a 25-bed critical access hospital, including a Level 4 Trauma Center Emergency Room seeing 3,200 visits annually. The Surgical Services department performs over 1,300 procedures annually, including specialties General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, Pain management, and Podiatry.

Founded more than 75 years ago as a community hospital, today we operate three clinics, 24/7 emergency services, inpatient and outpatient medical/surgical services. We have invested millions in facility upgrades just in the last few years. With more than 225 employees and average tenure of eight years, our growth continues with multiple expansion projects currently underway. We are an affiliate of MercyOne.

About The Job:
Accepts responsibility and accountability for the delivery of care through the use of the nursing process ensuring safety, quality, and continuity of care is maintained. Provides nursing care for medical and surgical patients as assigned, while maintaining professional nursing standards. Directs and guides patient teaching and ancillary personnel to include exercising independent judgment in directing the work of others. Position works closely with various therapies, such as RT, PT, ST, and OT to provide multidisciplinary care to patients. Works collaboratively with the MCRHC Provider team to ensure optimal care is delivered. Position also floats to Emergency Room and Outpatient Treatment Center with experience, as directed by Acute Care Nursing Director.
The Position: .9 FTE 72 hours per pay period.
Pay: Starts at $32.49 for ADN and $33.49 for BSN, both increase with experience.
Shift: Sunday-Saturday, Weekends, and Holidays. 7am to 7pm. Works every 3rd Weekend and Holiday.
Position Qualifications:
- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited program in professional nursing.
- Current RN licensure in the State of Iowa.

Experience:
- Previous experience in a health care setting is preferred.

Special Skills & Aptitudes:
- Maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider.
- ER - ACLS, TNCC, and PALS required
- Med/Surg/OTC - ACLS and PALS required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates knowledge and support for the principles of customer relations in daily activities with others.
- Demonstrates nursing competency to provide care within the assigned unit to the population described in the scope of care.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Completion of a telemetry course within one year of hire.
- Must be able to obtain Mandatory Reporting for both Child and Dependent Abuse.
