Mechanical Engineering Associate

Role Overview
The Mechanical Engineering Associate supports maintenance and engineering initiatives by developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing and mechanical maintenance methods. This role collaborates across engineering, quality, maintenance, operations, planning, and vendor teams to enhance equipment reliability, support cost-saving initiatives, and ensure effective mechanical solutions for manufacturing, repair, and facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to develop, document, and implement mechanical management systems based on process monitoring.
- Work with maintenance and operations personnel to create and maintain mechanical maintenance procedures and work instructions.
- Develop and implement corrective actions for equipment reliability issues identified through preventive maintenance systems.
- Partner with planning and design teams to support mechanical designs focused on reliability, longevity, and operational effectiveness.
- Coordinate with vendors to evaluate specifications, procure equipment, materials, and parts, and ensure quality standards are met.
- Design, recommend, and select mechanical components while considering operational requirements and chemical compatibility.
- Support departmental and organizational goals through effective communication, teamwork, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program in Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and prepare basic technical documents, correspondence, and reports.
- Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform calculations, analyze ratios and percentages, and interpret graphical data.
- Ability to apply sound reasoning and problem-solving skills in situations involving multiple variables and maintenance-related challenges.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as internet-based software tools.
- Knowledge of engineering drawing systems and mechanical design principles.
- Ability to work in industrial environments requiring standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
