General Statement of Duties:
The Student Life Programming Assistant reports directly to the Student Life Director and works to provide robust co-curricular programming on all MWCC campuses. Assists in the day-to-day operation of the Student Life Office ensuring a student centered and inclusive environment for all students. Work collaboratively with departments across campus to ensure that programs are relevant and accessible to the MWCC college community.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the Director in all aspects of the Student Life office.
- Advises the Campus Activities Team for Students programming board.
- Lead in the organization and execution of campus programming.
- Produce marketing materials and provide event promotion for all aspects of the Student Life Office.
- Interact with students regularly to promote involvement in programs.
- Help maintain online engagement platforms.
- Aid in the event attendance and assessment of all programs.
- Assist in the management of programming budgets, purchasing, and contracting with vendors as needed.
- Process student photo IDs for all campuses.
- Attend various conferences to discover and hire talent and programs for campus events.
- Serve as a chaperone at student conferences.
- Attend CCSLA (Community College Student Leadership Association) meetings and conferences to assist in developing statewide programming for student leaders.
- Maintain organized records, calendars and department supplies.
- Help supervise student work study staff as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in business administration, Human Services, Liberal Arts or other related areas.
- 1-2 years' experience working in a college environment designing and executing co-curricular programs and supporting student leaders.
- Demonstrated experience managing office tasks and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as in collaboration with others.
- Must be available to work some evenings and weekends as needed for event programming and travel to conferences.
- Valid driver's license to ensure ease of travel between campuses and for travel to conferences.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and to stand for extended periods of time during events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Human Services, Liberal Arts or other related areas.
