Overview: An industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining all mechanical equipment throughout all MCC operations while complying with all applicable mining regulations and/or MCC policies at all times. Basic qualifications and/or traits that the Industrial Maintenance Technician must possess include:
- Must be skilled in repair, maintenance and installation of belt conveyors, screw conveyors, elevators, pumps, compressors, fans, feeders, water, air and gas lines and valves.
- Ability to ARC weld.
- Have a working knowledge of all MCC operations and process flows.
- A strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude.
- Have reliable attendance and safety records.
- Be able to work without constant supervision.
- Be able to give and take directions.
- Knowledge of safe productive operations of mobile equipment used throughout all areas of the plant.
Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Industrial Maintenance Technician include but are not limited to:
- Safety inspections shall be performed a minimum of once per shift as required by federal mining regulations. Additional inspections may be required as conditions warrant.
- The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing housekeeping duties in his work area to remove slip/trip/fall hazards. Work activities must be performed while adhering to all applicable federal/state regulations and MCC company policies at all times.
- Repairing pumps, ducts, piping, mills, motors, vessels, conveyor belts, and other pieces of machinery throughout all areas of MCC operations.
- Installation of bearings, rebuilding of pumps, gear boxes, compressors, and all plant equipment within operating tolerances.
- Perform precision alignments and use precision measuring devices accurately.
- Installation and repair of lubrication systems including a thorough knowledge of lubrication applications.
- The Industrial Maintenance Technician must maintain a complete set of tools within ninety (90) days of being assigned to the job classification. A listing of the required tools will be provided upon hire.
- The Industrial Maintenance Technician is required to operate mobile equipment on a regular basis. Proper task training and safe operation guidelines will be adhered to at all times. Employees will not operate any piece of mobile equipment without being properly trained as required by MSHA regulations.
NOTE: This is an extremely physical job, requiring strenuous work and the ability to maneuver throughout the plant quickly when required (this requirement cannot be sacrificed). Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Education & Experience Requirements: The Automation/Process Engineer will have a formal education along with previous technical experience.
