About the Role
MRIGlobal's Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship Program provides recent Ph.D. graduates an opportunity to apply their scientific expertise to real-world challenges in a nonprofit research institute environment. Fellows conduct applied research that supports MRIGlobal's mission of creating a safer, healthier, and more sustainable world while working alongside experienced scientists and multidisciplinary teams. The fellowship is designed as a developmental role with opportunities for growth and potential advancement into a Research Scientist position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design and conduct scientific research and analyze experimental data.
2. Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot experimental methods and laboratory systems.
3. Review scientific literature and apply emerging knowledge to research programs.
4. Support project planning, protocol development, and execution of assigned research tasks.
5. Prepare technical reports, presentations, publications, and research summaries.
6. Present research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
7. Provide technical guidance, training, and peer review support for colleagues.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Developmental Biology, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, or a closely related biomedical discipline.
2. Experience with mammalian stem cell culture, including iPSCs, ESCs, primary cell lines, or advanced in vitro tissue models.
3. Willingness to work in BSL-2 and BSL-3 laboratory environments and with hazardous compounds.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Research experience in biology, bioengineering, immunology, cancer biology, or a related field.
2. Experience developing advanced in vitro systems, including microphysiological systems, bioreactors, perfusion platforms, or 3D tissue models.
3. Expertise in reproductive biology, germ cell biology, or in vitro gametogenesis.
4. Experience evaluating cellular transport, stress responses, or biomolecule secretion in complex tissue models.
5. Demonstrated initiative, creativity, adaptability, and continuous learning.
Salary Range: $64,000 - $80,000
The salary range is intended as a general guideline and is not a guaranteed offer, as compensation depends on various factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate qualifications, experience, internal equity, and market conditions.
