Maintenance MechanicMaintenance Mechanic Technician Job Duties:
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on CNC machines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools; examining form and texture of parts.
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
- Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
- Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Provide mechanical maintenance information by providing feedback to work orders, answering questions and requests.
- Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Required Skills:
- Associate degree in relevant field.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of the maintenance and repair of complex hydraulic systems
- Demonstrate strong understanding of electronic devices including microprocessors, computers, PLC’s, variable frequency drives, etc.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical systems.
- Experience with Induction Furnaces, vibratory conveyors, shot blast equipment preferred.
- CNC Machining, Robotics and RS 500 /5000 Logic.
- Provide professional top tier maintenance service to all internal customers
- Demonstrate strong commitment to the PM process
- Demonstrate commitment to all plant safety practices and procedures
- Effectively communicate with other associates in a team-based environment
- Exercise good decision making and judgment skills and ability to work without direct leadership
What You Need To Succeed:
- Previous experience in high volume manufacturing is required.
- Completion of a technical training/apprentice program and minimum Five (5) years Industrial Maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to read electrical prints and troubleshoot.
- Experience with foundry equipment, paint and machine shop equipment is desired.
- Must have experience working with 120 and 480 voltage.
- Specific knowledge and experience with PLC’s, LadderLogic, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical distribution, piping and welding is required.
- Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance, equipment installation, and repair and troubleshooting of large automated systems.
- Position requires incumbents to spend significant time on their feet and walking (10 or more hours per day)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted
- Ability to work from elevated heights
- Ability to work in confined space areas
- Occasional bending, twisting, squatting and stooping to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Must be available to work multiple shifts.
- Must be available to work a 4 day per week, 10 hour day schedule plus overtime hours as needed.
